We got to attend a Durham Bulls game last night. A friend of Mike's said that his nephew would be an umpire at the game and could get us tickets. Sweet! So he not only got us tickets (pretty good seats) but took us onto the field before the game. Mike & Tyler got to meet a couple of players too. Very exciting!
We are calling yesterday, "Tyler day" because in the morning he got to go fishing with Mike. They caught a couple of fish. Then Mike's friend called and told him about the tickets so Tyler was one happy boy. Fishing and a ball game.......could it get any better for a 10 year old? All the children had fun at the ball game which of course included lots of junk food and soda. It was family f
east night so hot dogs, french fries and popcorn were $1.00 each. Would it be wrong to tell you that Mike ate 4 hot dogs....yep 4! Tyler does not like hot dogs or popcorn so he had his own little feast of funnel cake, cotton candy and french fries! There was a giant ceiling fan above us so watching Tyler eat his funnel cake was comical because the powdered sugar went everywhere....all over him and the people behind him :) We had a very fun night. We are very thankful for the tickets.
Oh, on a side note....from the previous post about the fireworks. Yeah well on the fourth we had some friends over for a cook out and to let off some of the fireworks. All went well except for a small little fire. Of course, right?! Tyler decided to put fireworks in and around his kick board....ya know to watch it blow up. Why else. So that's what they did. Then they moved on to sparklers and Ty tried to put it on the kick board. And I told him "no sir". So our little neighbor decided he would do it and I didn't catch it until it was already on fire. Really?! Later that night that same little
neighbor said "This has been the best 4th of July ever!"
